Transition at LCHS

Hello

Firstly, can I take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Mr Richardson and I am head of transition at Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School (LCHS). Hopefully by now you will have received via Lincolnshire County Council confirmation of your child’s place at LCHS. We wish to extend a big warm welcome to the LCHS family and send you our very best wishes at this turbulent time.  You will be receiving or may have already received our admissions form with a self-addressed envelope in the post following confirmation of your child’s place. Please can I ask that this be returned at your earliest convenience. If this not possible at this time, then please do let us know.

It is usually now that I would begin to visit all of our new students in their primary schools and speak to the children and their teachers. Whilst this may not be possible at this moment in time, I would like to assure you that we will do all that we can to help with your child’s move up to secondary school. As part of this process I will be contacting their Y6 teachers to ask for further information. We would like to get to know your child as an individual so that we can ensure that we have everything in place for a happy and smooth transition. Hopefully, you have all been e-mailed a parent questionnaire to complete about your child.

We would like you as parents/carers to know that we really appreciate the energy required to help and support your child at this time and that we are here for you as a school and wider family network to support you. If your child is keen to get involved in extra transition activities, then please do take a look at our school twitter page @LCHSed and our weekly challenges and feel free to take part. Over the next few weeks you will receive further information in the post about transition. However, on this web page you will be able to see lots of information that you can share with your child. This page will continue to be updated as and when we are able to pass on further information. Keep your eyes peeled for our transition videos that will be uploaded shortly.

We are looking forward to finding out more about your child and welcoming them to LCHS in the near future. We really cannot wait to welcome you further to the LCHS family.
