Welcome to the ICT & Business Studies Department.
Consisting of four members of staff, the Department is responsible for the planning, delivery and assessment of ICT in Years 7-13 and Business Studies in Years 10-13.
The Department is housed in four air-conditioned dedicated ICT suites, each containing 25-30 modern flat-screen PCs, an interactive whiteboard, laser printing facilities and a range of other peripheral devices.

Exam Board Specifications
Students in Year 7 receive one lesson of ICT per week and the scheme of work is in line with the newly revised programme of study for Computing:
- Research and Multimedia Presentation
- Introduction to Programming (using Logo & Flowol)
- Presenting Information (Word processing, DTP & Website Development)
- Movie Making
- Spreadsheet Modelling
All students in Year 8 have one lesson of ICT per week, with a scheme of work in line with the requirements of the newly revised programme of study for Computing. The main units are:
- Game Planning & Graphics
- Game Programming (Scratch v2)
- E-Safety & Movie Making
- Handling Data using Spreadsheets & Databases
- Developing websites
All students in Year 9 have one lesson of ICT per week. The year is structured in line with the newly revised programme of study for Computing and topics include:
- Components of an IT System
- Binary & Algorithms
- Visual Basic Programming
- Website & Media Development
