The LCHS Assistant Archivist, Peter Harrod, has had one of his articles published in the June edition of The Lincolnshire Poacher, the quarterly magazine supplement of Lincolnshire Life. This article, based on Occasional Paper 39 from the Garton Archive, focuses in particular on William Harrison Crowder, the eldest of the two sons of Ann and William Ashley Crowder. Many local people may also have seen the poignant and moving film, ‘Tell Them of Us’, shown at Stanhope Hall in Horncastle, The Collection in Lincoln and elsewhere in the county. The film is set during the Great War, and tells the story of the Crowder family during the Great War. William Crowder was a pupil at Lincoln Grammar School, and the Garton Archive at Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School contains a number of records which provide an insight into his career at the School, brought to life in the article. Visit the LCHS History section to read more about the school's rich heritage.
