Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School has been awarded the International School Award (ISA) for the seventh consecutive time, one of fewer than 10 schools in the UK to do so. The award from the British Council has now been held by the school since 1999, the inaugural year, and recognises the many varied activities undertaken by students and staff of the school in the formal curriculum and beyond. Recent events in school covered in the latest application included the International Day of Languages, work on the Holocaust including meeting a survivor from one of the concentration camps and work on the World Wars and Remembrance Day. Students and staff have travelled overseas to meet partner schools in Belgium, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland and Spain, undertaking a wide variety of projects with them. Return visits to Lincoln also took place, the latest being a Summer School for students from Hebei Foreign Language School in Tangshan, China. The next major event taking place at the school is the ROTA conference for five schools from Europe entitled People and Government. Coincidentally this finishes on Brexit Day, 29th March 2019, so some lively debate is expected.

Director of Sixth Form, Mark Edgar, said “We are very pleased that our extensive International activities have again been recognised by this award. Our students gain so much from their contacts overseas and often form friendships that last a lifetime. This work has been an integral part of our school for many years and will continue into the future”.
