2018 Year 11 Prom and Yearbook

The Year 11 Prom this year will be on Friday 29th June 7pm to Midnight and tickets are on sale at a cost of £30 per student which includes a welcome drink and a pulled pork buffet.

Payments are due by this Friday, 27th April so there is not long left to secure your place at the event of the Year 11 calendar year!

The theme of this year’s Prom is ‘A Night at the Oscars’ and it promises to be a night to remember for all Year 11 students.

It would be wonderful if all students could attend and no student will be denied the opportunity due to financial limitations.

Please encourage your child to buy a ticket, by this Friday or alternatively, contact Mrs Rayner if you have any queries.

A small group of Year 11s are working tirelessly to put together an amazing keepsake for all Year 11 students in the form of a Yearbook.

The book should be finished and printed in time for Year 11s leaving school towards the end of June.

In order to secure your copy, please send a payment of £16 to Mrs Parker, the school Cashier, before Friday 11th May at the very latest.

ROTA 2018

Last week 15 Sixth Form students travelled to Holland to take part in ROTA. ROTA is an exchange programme that has been running between 5 schools from England, Germany, Belgium, Holland and Spain for the past 27 years. The students were fully submerged into the Dutch way of life as they stayed with host families and attended Elde College in Schijndel. The theme of the week was “Working towards a smart city” and workshops included Music, Dance, Art, Sport, Journalism and Cowspiracy. The students represented the school very well and produced some excellent work and presentations which were shown during the final presentation evening. Students also visited the cities of Rotterdam and Amsterdam. It was an excellent opportunity to experience other cultures and speak to students from other European countries. The students certainly learnt a lotJ Although it is mostly in Dutch here is a link to a video which was produced on the project:
