Dear friends,

Many of you will know Mr John Wells-Cole, who sadly died in Lincoln County Hospital on 30th June at the age of 88. His funeral will be held in Lincoln Cathedral on Friday 13th July at 11:00 am.

Mr Wells-Cole graduated from Caius College Cambridge with a BA and was later awarded his MA degree. He joined the staff at Lincoln School in 1957, where he taught English with some French until he left Lincoln School in 1975 to take up a teaching appointment at Rossall School, near Blackpool. He retired from his post at  Rossall in 1984, and returned to Lincoln.

In addition to his teaching duties he took skiing parties from the School to Switzerland.

The above picture, taken in a form room at Lincoln School in 1962, shows a characteristic pose, and a group of boys hanging on his every word!
