It has been a long and very busy week and our minds are now turning to all of the excitement of Christmas and the prospect of having a few weeks off school.
Many of us are also thinking about the challenges the next few weeks hold. Yes, we do have a lot of exciting events such as the whole school Christmas dinner and the cathedral service, but we also have many students who are at an exceptionally important time of their studies. Year 11, in particular, are thinking about revision schedules and trying to prepare for the looming mock exam season. Don’t forget, Year 11, we are all behind you every step of the way. Your teachers will give you what you need and your fabulous year team will give you whatever support you need to be as prepared as possible.
One thing to remember – don’t put off the preparation. Put things into place now to make sure you will have the best possible chance to do well. You are a great year group and deserve to gain results to be proud of. We all wish you the very best of luck!
‘We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.’ Aristotle
I would like to once again congratulate all of the students who gained either departmental expert learner awards or overall expert learner badges in assemblies this week. You have done yourselves and your year groups proud. I would also like to pass on a very special congratulations to Mr Donnington and all of the students who were part of the Project X competition at RAF Waddington. I have had numerous amazing reports about our students and, after trying for 7 years, we have finally won. Many congratulations to all involved.
Enjoy your weekend and don’t forget to look out for tickets for the upcoming production of ‘That’s How We Roald Dahl.’
